Guidelines for Artists

As an artist, you realize how important it is to have your work showcased in a quality art gallery. We, also, believe that quality is very important. Hence, we offer some guidelines to make the artist - gallery interaction an effective and productive one, yielding high quality exhibits for our collectors.

  • Our exhibits generally last 2 to 3 months in length.
  • We have a reception near the beginning of the exhibit, at which the artist is expected to attend and participate.
  • We advertise new exhibits in newspapers, trade magazines, via email and via mailings. If a mailing is made, artists are expected to send postcards to their collector lists, using postcards we provide.
  • Each artist is expected to provide a CD of images of the artwork in the exhibit, along with a descriptive page including size, medium and retail price for each item in the exhibit. This CD and list is needed at least one week before the exhibit opening date, in order to update the website. The Artist's Agreement discusses web-based distribution of your images, and your responsibilities vis-a-vis copyrights.
  • Pricing for each piece is to be the same as offered elsewhere: thus, if your artwork is generally sold at $1500 at art festivals, that will be the price in our gallery.
  • The artist is responsible for bringing the artwork in high quality, hanging condition. This means each painting must have a wire hanger across the back, at a minimum. Framed items must have quality frames in good condition. Mats must be acid-free and clean and well-cut.
  • A very specific date and timeframe will be specified when the artwork is expected to be brought to the gallery. These parameters must be met to ensure that your artwork is hung or displayed in a harmonious fashion with other artists' work. Late deliveries may be rejected.
  • Unsold artwork is expected to remain for the duration of the exhibit: no early withdrawals.
  • As artwork is sold, the curator may request additional work from the artist.
  • Artwork may be rejected at the gallery curator's perogative.
  • The artist is responsible for picking up the unsold artwork at the end of the exhibit, on the date and during the times specified.
  • Payments for sales are made on a monthly basis, to the address provided on the Artist Agreement, signed at the beginning of the artist - gallery relationship.

For initial consideration, you may email photos of your work, send a CD or send hardcopy prints.
No such submissions will be returned.
