Basic Mat Cutting for Artists

Basic course to become certified on Pelican Art's computerized mat cutter. Learn to use the Wizard mat cutter to cut rectangular window openings, with standard and reverse bevels. Cut custom sized mats in a fraction of the time of hand cut mats. Separate certification test required before rental use of the Wizard is allowed.

Pre-requisites: Solid understanding of and experience with computer applications such as Word, Photoshop or others that work with clipart or graphics.

The Wizard 8000 computerized mat cutter.

This is the machine you will learn to use in this class. It is a CAD-driven machine, run by an Intel PC.

The Basic class covers what you need to know to cut a window mat with template #101. You will also learn the required safety precautions and procedures for this machine.
