New Fine Art Exhibit:
Hope and Optimism
June 16, 2009 to August 1, 2009
Pelican Art Gallery is pleased to present “Hope & Optimism”, a group exhibit with over 2 dozen artists working in a wide verity of media. Co-owner Donna Hinshaw came up with the theme citeing the need to challenge the dominance of negative news. “I was ready to spread some positive thinking. Art is a great way to reach people in a very personal and upbeat way” said Hinshaw.
Artists participating include Michaell Allen, Fran Barrish, Sue Capella, Megan Edwards, Max Ellman, Marilee Ford, Muriel Goodfield, Grace Keller, Muriel Knapp, Carol Larson, Elaine Larson, Jan Lee, Lauri Luck, Janice Merola, Judy Oster, Marla Pedersen, Jordan Pepper, Laura Pierce, Linda Postenrieder, Jonna Ramey, Carol Salomon-Bryant, Mary Sanders, Bo Svensson, Phyllis Thomas, Marte Thompson, Stephen Weiss, Rita Young, Patricia Zimmer. The Artist Reception is also a food drive for the Petaluma Kitchen on Friday, July 10th from 5 – 8pm. Bring a non-perishable food item to help spread hope and optimism to those less fortunate. Excerpts of the exhibit will also be shown at the Pelican Art Gallery booth F44 at the Petaluma Downtown Association

With a number of fine artists in the Petaluma area, we are pleased to have artwork from a number of 'resident artists' year-round. We also maintain relationships with prior exhibiting artists, and can facilitate your ownership of their art.
Custom Picture Framing:
Pelican Art has the only Certified Picture Framer in the area, Linda Postenrieder. As artists and artisans, we can stretch canvases, mount maps, photographs, embroidery, make creative displays of baseball jerseys, balls, bats, and more. Our framing will add to your artwork.
Pelican Art provides custom picture framing and classes in framing for artists. Please contact us or come visit to see what we can do to help you. Quality Presentation and Preservation (sm) is the way we work.
Services:
Pelican Art will hang your artwork in your home or office at an hourly rate. We provide the expertise and tools, you provide the artwork and the ladders! Call to make an appointment. We can also pick up and deliver artwork in the local area. Please call 707-773-3393.
We can also repair frames and artwork. If it has fallen from the wall, bring it in and we'll be happy to give you an estimate on what can be done. Everything from repainting frame, creating new gesso on old frames, fixing holes in canvas art, touching up watercolor or oil paintings... And of course we will replace broken glass.

ART APPRAISALS
during Second Friday Artwalk:
on the Second Friday of each month, Pelican Art is hosting Michael Coggianno.
Each month, Historic Downtown Petaluma hosts an Artwalk. At Pelican Art Gallery, Michael Coggianno will be doing free art appraisals. Michael specializes in American and European art, but is also very knowledgeable about Oriental art. Bring in your artwork and he'll give you a free verbal estimate. Formal, written appraisals are available for $100. 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
